#4 Fret Slots

I cut the fret slots yesterday, finishing today. The finger board is a nice piece of Honduran rosewood. The scale on #4 will be 25.4 inches – also called the Martin long scale. Just a bit of trivia, the Martin long scale is actually 25.34 inches but is usually listed as 25.4.

You can see that I cut the slots old school. The miter box and pull-saw came from Stew-Mac. It would go a whole lot faster using a table saw with a special blade, but I will have to wait until the day I have a bigger shop.
